  • The principles and best practices reflected across the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), where relevant GSA also adopts privacy practices consistent with established sporting and basketball organisations.

  • Payment information for program fees

  • Photos or videos taken during training or events (see Section 9)

  • Health information relevant to safe participation (e.g., injury notes or medical needs)

  • Information provided through online forms, communication platforms or social media interactions

 

4. How We Collect Your Information

We collect information in several ways, including:

  • Directly from you via forms, applications or communication platforms

  • Through online interactions such as website submissions or social media engagement

  • From authorised third parties such as schools, clubs or program partners

  • Through automated website analytics tools
     

We only collect what is reasonably necessary for our operational, coaching and safety purposes.

5. How We Use Your Information

GSA uses your personal information to:

  • Manage and administer your participation in programs, trainings, events and competitions

  • Communicate program updates, schedule changes, and relevant information through social media and digital communication platforms

  • Support athlete development, training plans and performance feedback

  • Ensure health, safety and welfare during trainings and competitions

  • Coaches, trainers and authorised GSA staff

GSA may capture photos or videos during training, events or competitions. If you (or your parent/guardian if you are a minor) have consented, GSA may use your image/name for:

  • Social media content

  • Training analysis

  • Website or promotional materials

Where no consent has been obtained for a specific use, we will seek your specific permission before using any photographs/videos outside the scope of our standard promotional material.

GSA may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Updated versions will be published on our website with a revised “Effective Date.”
